We can't provide on this area without an evocation of the Cognac and bid bands as Martell and Hennessy. Some of them can be visited and Cognac can be tasted....but always with moderation!

Saint-Savinien :

You won't be indifferent to beauty of the romans churches,plentiful in this area.

For your children a visit to the toy boat miniature is a must.

Saintes :

There are so many architectural sites to be seen there, it would be worth staying all day. Don't miss the crypt and the spire of Saitn Europe church and the bells of Saitn Pierre Cathedral.

Cognac :

All the big brans of Cognac are based here. They offer guide tours and Cognac tasting ( don't overdi it!!) You'll be surprised by the blackish colour of the house roofs: this is calles the " Angel's share" and it is caused by a microscopic mushroom due to the alchohol vapour in the air.

One visit not to miss: the Saint Gobain glaas making factory where you will discover how to make a bottle with specials sizes and shapes.

In Cognac you will also visit the castle where François the first born.

Jarnac :

Yuo'll love the lush green tranquility of this town nestling within the charentais wineyard.

At this stop, you cans fish, swim, go walking and there are many other sports.

Saint-Simon

Visit the boatmen's house and take the discovery trail through the narrow streets. The shops fronts and old names have been conserved to recall the activities of days gone by.

Wind up your trip on the Moulins canl which is great for swimming.

Châteauneuf-sur-Charente :

Take the hiking trail which will lead you through the heart of the wineyards or take the high road ans try some rock-climbing on the famous "Font-qui-pisse" rock face.

Angoulême :

Known world wide for its comic fectival, the town is also rich in architectural treasures. The old own overlooks the Charente from a heigh of almost 70 meters. The view is spectacular.
